A former antique dealer, I realised that I possessed a sizeable stock of old time lace and fabrics acquired here and there in trade fairs and sales.

When I began to sort out all these materials, my imagination started to wander and I made my first pair of curtains and short-curtains (used in the past to cover). “Au brise-bise” came into being.

Curtains are made to your measures, a single curtain or a pair. Made out of old lace, each curtain or pair of curtains is a unique creation which cannot be reproduced. So there is no catalogue of standard, but you can see some examples of creations from the photos included here.

“Au Brise-bise”, among other things you will find clothes for antique dolls, cushions, lampshade decorations, table centre-pieces  and christening robes.

I can give life back to your damaged articles by restoration work or by transformation, according to your wishes.

If you peep into a cupboard in an outhouse at the end of my garden (see "“contacts"” page for address), you will discover piles of bed and table linen from your grandmother's or even great grandmother's time.

And to go further in my fascination for these materials, which I hope you will share with me, I make bobbin lace demonstrations  in antiques and crafts events in the Paris area.
